Sitting With An Angel Bench To Feature Trudy Leann Appleby; Foundation To Offer Free MyID4Life Kidz Kardz Program To Moline, Illinois Area Children

Richwoods, MO � September 1st, 2004 � The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation�s Sitting With An Angel campaign sets it�s sights on Moline, Illinois this Saturday, featuring a bench dedication in commemoration of Trudy Appleby�s 20^th birthday, as well as offering it�s free MyID4Life Kidz Kardz program to area children aged 17 and under.

The Sitting With An Angel campaign is a result of a partnership between The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation and Creative Placard Ads of Granite City, Illinois.� The partnership places courtesy benches featuring the photo and case information about missing children at high traffic retail establishments throughout the Midwest.

Trudy Leann Appleby, missing from Moline, Illinois since August 21^st, 1996, was last seen getting into a silver or gray, box type vehicle with an unknown white male described as being in his 20�s with brown curly hair.� Trudy was 11 years old at the time of her disappearance, and her case is classified as a non-family abduction.

Trudy�s bench will be dedicated on Saturday, September 4^th, at 2:00pm.� The bench will be placed at Kmart Store 4297, 5000 Avenue Of The Cities, Moline, Illinois 61265.� The public and media are invited to attend the dedication ceremony.

The foundation�s MyID4Life Kidz Kardz program for children aged 17 and under will also be available after the dedication from 2:30 pm � 4:00 pm.� Parents will receive a hard plastic Kidz Kardz ID card that contains their child's photo, name, age, height, weight and hair/eye color. The card can be given to authorities in the event the child is lost or missing, providing them with a recent photo and accurate physical description. This program is offered free of charge as a public service; donations are accepted to help offset the cost of the program.
