St. John, MO � June 12th,
2003 � The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation, working in conjunction with the family of
Christian Ferguson, has established a Search Command Center to coordinate the
families� volunteer search efforts.
The command center has been established at the United Methodist Church,
9355 St. Charles Rock Road, St. John, MO 63114, on the third
floor.
Temporary phone numbers to
reach the command center have also been established. The command center can be reached by
calling 314 574-5433 or 314 518-9798.
Persons wishing to volunteer to assist in administration, flyer
distribution or searches should contact the command
center.
Shawn Hornbeck Search &
Rescue (SHSAR) members are currently setting up the command center and training
volunteers to fill the administrative positions required. Search areas are currently being
coordinated with law enforcement and command center staff, and we anticipate
beginning K9 searches this afternoon.
One SHSAR K9 unit is already on scene and a second team has been
activated and will arrive this afternoon.
